In Touch awarded £460k to provide additional services
The In Touch Service was established in 2011 to provide ongoing free support for young people who have been placed with Moore House Care & Education or JMT Care Services up until the age of 24.
In recognition of its success and the innovative work of the service it has now been awarded £460k by the Big Lottery, Investing in Communities Fund, to further develop its work supporting young people before and after they leave our care services. The In Touch Service will now be able to offer long-term planning for young people without concern for continued funding. The money will allow for two full time workers to be employed for five years and offer support packages to young people in preparation for them moving on and ongoing support once they have left. The Service will be available to all young people who are, have been, or become part of Moore House Care & Education or JMT Care Services.
This development will enable us to significantly enhance the support and preparation we offer to young people placed at Moore House through the provision of a range of new interventions such as social skills training; employability training; confidence building; social enterprise projects; and enhanced after-care support.
This additional complimentary support will be free of cost to placing agencies but will significantly improve our capacity to achieve good outcomes and secure positive destinations for our young people.
