Teacher – Geography
Rafal has finished his Master’s Degree in Geography at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. He had been teaching at High School in Wrzesnia, Poland before he came over to Scotland in 2004.
Rafal joined Moore House Care & Education in 2016. Initially, he worked as a relief Care Worker and a full time Care Worker in the Gate House, Bathgate. He was been given the opportunity to join Moore House Academy – Bathgate last year. Rafal teaches Geography and coordinates various activities for Outdoor Education. Rafal has gained many qualifications within this field by completing Mountain Bike Leader, Lower Mountain Leader Award and First Aid courses which gave him complex knowledge and understanding of the theory and practical application.
Rafal loves travels, mountains and hiking. So far, he visited few continents; climbed Aconcagua in Argentina and Mont Blanc in France. He had done few treks in the Himalayas in Nepal too. Rafal shares his passion to mountains and nature with young people. He believes that Geography and Outdoor Education helps young people to gain an understanding of the world we live in, to improve and maintain good mental wellbeing and to develop social skills. Also, Rafal enjoys challenges and works hard to achieve this. He encourages young people to explore, to overcome their own limits to ensure they reach their full potential.
Rafal is a great believer that every young person deserves a chance to achieve their own potential, boost their confidence and learn new skills.
