Education Services: Partnerships
We work in partnership across the organisation, with external services and agencies, to ensure that we meet the complex range of needs of all our young people.
Our In Touch Service works closely with our teaching team to provide support for young people, aged 14 plus, to develop their independent living and employability skills. They are involved in delivering our personal and social education programme and Youth Achievement Awards.
Transitional planning begins early and involves the career advisor, who meets regularly with young people. Together we liaise with West Lothian College and local work placement providers to ensure that young people are well prepared to move on from school to positive destinations.
We make good use of local and wider community leisure and cultural resources, and are expanding our outdoor education programme in partnership with WLC Ranger Service.
Our young people are involved in charitable fundraising events such as the annual McMillan Coffee Morning. We also recognise the achievements of our young people at a number of celebratory events to which parents and partners are invited.
