Positive Behaviour
Moore House operates a levels system to reward positive
behaviour. Levels are given for each lesson and pupils are awarded
certificates and pocket money bonuses for effort made in school.
The pupil with the highest number of certificates each half term
can choose between receiving a gift voucher and having an individual
outing with a member of staff. In addition, special activities and
outings are offered to young people achieving and maintaining good
levels on a weekly basis. Tokens are awarded for those attaining
the highest level, and these can be redeemed for books, or computer
or sports equipment At each weekly assembly, a nominated Pupil of
the Week receives a certificate and voucher.
Young people are encouraged to take responsibility
for their behaviour and their learning, and are helped to develop
personal and social skills that will enable them to function well
in society.
The school has strong links with the local community
through joint working with the Careers Service, local colleges and
work experience placements.
Staff respect young people and encourage them to develop
respect for themselves and for others. Good relationships between
staff and young people form the foundation for promoting positive
behaviour and helping to develop individual responsibility.
