Education Services
Philosophy
Moore House places a high value on education. All young
people are encouraged to achieve their academic potential.
While following national guidelines, teachers take
account of the social, emotional and behavioural difficulties experienced
by young people, and work closely with social care staff to enable
all pupils to benefit from their individual programmes. Staff are
committed to providing young people with the highest standard of
learning experience. Regular contact is maintained with parents,
carers, social workers and educational psychologists by means of
end of term school reports.
Achievements are celebrated at weekly assemblies. Special
assemblies are held throughout the year to mark important events
in the calendar - Burns' Day, St Andrew's Day, Remembrance Day,
Harvest Festival, in addition to Easter and Christmas. Great importance
is placed on our prizegiving ceremonies, which take place in May
and December and to which all those who are important in the young
people's lives are invited to share in their success.
