Structure

Each of our residential units in the school is managed by a Child Care Manager who is supported by three Senior Child Care Workers. The staff team is complemented by eight Child Care Workers and a team of Night Child Care Workers. Each unit staff team operates a rota system that ensures that four or five adults are working with young people at any given time which allows the opportunity for individual and group work to be undertaken.

Each Child Care Worker assumes key-working responsibility for one or two young people, engaging in individual work with the young person concerned and co-ordinating the development of the Personal Plan. This work is supervised and monitored by a Senior Child Care Worker who acts as case manager.

The care staff team are also committed to supporting young people to gain the most they can from the education provision in the school. This means being on hand to support the teachers in providing behaviour support and encouraging young people to work well in class.
