About Moore House

Moore House Care and Education is an independent organisation providing a range of childcare and education services. A major part of the service is a residential school for up to 32 residents and 12 day pupils, aged between 8 and 16 years, who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Established in 1988, the school itself has gained an excellent reputation as a leading provider of residential care and education and enjoys a positive relationship with a large number of local authorities throughout Scotland and the north of England.

Accommodation is provided in three residential units, two of which provide close support. We have also recently developed two throughcare projects in nearby Livingston, each accommodating 3 young people.

As a forward looking organisation, we provide a truly child-centred service, in which the young person is at the heart of our thinking and planning. Creating a sense of safety and security is our prime aim, underpinning which is a strong commitment to the value and worth of each individual pupil.
